  1. A question for all of you who have to wear chainsaw boots: Why is it that some guys will pay £100 for a pair of trainers that they wear for 10 hours a week but quibble at paying £200 for boots that they wear 60 hours a week!!!? :confused1:Judging by this attitude chaonsaw boots should cost £1200!!! I'll also bet that those guys look after their trainers better then they do their boots...!!! Most boots that we see on arborists feet look as if they've never seen any leather food since they were bought!!! Also what is your main priority when buying boots: Heavy, light, long lasting, comfortable, flexible, stiff, waterproof etc? Any comments welcomed!
  2. Hello Digga, Please confirm the style code, date of purchase and where you got them from. We may be able to give you a new improved pair. Regards, Fortec
  3. If they have the old flex zone - yes! Regards, Fortec
  4. We do use Kevlar - that's why we can offer lighter, more flexible boots. Noted the steel sheets - armour plated boots coming up!!
  5. Send us an email and we'll reply with the features.
  6. Sorry old chap but they definitely were. It took more than 18 months of work to complete the development. As to your comments regarding "simply steel toe cap work boots" - this is NOT true. It is extremely difficult to create a boot which has chainsaw protection, is waterproof and then comfortable. I appreciate that there are users out there that prefer a stiff, heavy boot and we're working on something - watch this space ....
  7. Please note that chainsaw boots are "Designed to prevent the wearer from serious injury whilst using a chainsaw". This does not mean chainsaw proof! We're glad to hear your foot's OK. The boot's did their job and if you have any doubts try it with trainers on ......! Regards, Fortec
  8. All of our chainsaw boots (including Aquafell Xpert) have STEEL toecaps. Regards, Fortec
  9. If they have orange flex zones and haven't been cut into we'll replace FOC. Regards, Fortec
  10. Yes, it was a team of working tree surgeons and they asked us for comfort and flexibility as priority - not stiff heavy boots that take two weeks to break in. Anyway here's our address: Fortec Footwear Ltd. Oldmedow Road Hardwick Industrial Estate King's Lynn Norfolk PE30 4JZ Send us your old pair and we'll replace it FOC providing they're not cut into. Regards, Fortec
  11. If they are the original version with split flux zones (orange) then we'll replace (FOC) - providing of course that they haven't been abused or cut into. Please send them back to us and we'll send you a new pair. With regards to the stretching - what do you want? Something comfortable that fits round your foot or something stiff that your foot has to fit round?!! We only use high quality cow leather to give flexibility, breathability and water resistance. Regards, Fortec Footwear
  12. Hello Boots You're right. The boots in the photos ARE CERTAINLY NOT the Xperts. They are Lavoro Amazons! Dave the dog - if you thought the Amazons were comfortable try the Aquafell Xperts. More comfortable, last longer and hand made in Germany. Regards.
  13. Hello there, You're thinking of the old Elten's with the uncomfortable seams across the front oif the foot. Try the Xperts - i guarantee you won't find anything more flexible, comfortable and light.
  14. Hang on Marc, We have many guys who find Elten's (Aquafell Xperts in particular) extrememly good. As for claiming that Elten sprang up in the last decade is rubbish - they started making safety boots in 1909!!! I appreciate it's your point of view but steady on the slagging! We are developing new boots - watch this space. We would like to give you a pair to try when their ready - if this is ok please send me your address etc to [email protected] Regards
  15. Hello 'Ammer, Please note that any Aquafell Xperts with an ORANGE flex zone are the old MK 1 versions and will split @ the heel as the material used was rubbish. If you send them back to either the dealer you bought them from or directly back to us (see address in my reply to Bob) we'll send you a new pair FREE. The new pair wil be the MK2 with BLACK LEATHER FLEX ZONE. Hope this helps and please accept our appologies for the hassle. Regards FORTEC
  16. Hello Bob, The pair in your photo are the MK 1 version with the following fault: The material used by Elten for this heel flex zone was a pathetic man made microfibre which split after a few weeks. Please return them to the dealer you bought them from or send them back to us direct @ the below address and we'll send you a new pair free. The new pair we'll send you has BLACK LEATHER in this heel part and WILL NOT SPLIT!!! Please accept our appologies for this. Regards FORTEC FOOTWEAR LTD. OLDMEDOW ROAD HARDWICK IND EST KING'S LYNN NORFOLK PE30 4JZ
  17. Could you please let us know what size you are because we would to send you a revised version of the Aquafell Xpert with an improved heel lining.
  18. Thanks for the comments regarding the heel lining on the Xpert boots, this was noted a couple of months ago and we are improving this with the manufacturer in Germany as we speak. Whilst I appreciate that there is room for improvement in the heel area please also bear in mind that it is important to ensure that your boots fit correctly, as a safety boot that is slightly too large for you will allow your feet to slip around and this is a large contributor to heel linings wearing out. We do offer additional footbeds to go inside the boots to help with this problem. With regards to Bob's comment as to them being cold there is no technical reason why this should be so except for, of course, if you are working in very damp conditions or cold weather. However please keep feeding us any comments positive or negative regarding any of our Arbortec products via our email address: [email protected] as feedback from yourselves is invaluable for improving, upgrading or new developments. Thanks once again and we look forward to hearing from you.
  19. As a result of an end-user campaign we sent a pair of gloves to a tree surgeon and his comments are as follows: Thought you would be interested and if you have any comments as to our products, please do not hesitate to contact us on the below email: [email protected]
  20. Please see below the test that we have carried on the Aquafell Xpert. [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6b5onlvFonc]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6b5onlvFonc[/ame]
  21. To whom it may concern We are pleased to confirm that after concerns raised by the Health & Safety with regards to the cut resistance offered by chainsaw boots currently on the market, we are pleased to announce that all of our chainsaw boots fully conform to and exceed the CE standards which of course includes cut resistance. Several times people have been confused by the video on Youtube which features a Lavoro Amazon product being cut with a chainsaw but this bears no relation whatsoever to our product (the Aquafell Xpert product which is manufactured by Elten GmbH in Germany). We trust this clears up any misunderstanding there has been and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has purchased our products. Fortec Footwear Ltd.
