  1. Treebogan.

Many of the small business owners in the UK send a written quotation for the work. That is the price and the specification of the work. It is a document that may be accepted as a contract in UK law. Norwegian laws may be different. It takes a few days longer to send the quote but it also means the client cannot ask for more work at the same price if the work is done to the required standards.

  2. Get the groundsman to pay for it, maybe then in future he will respect your tools better!

If he is PAYE then you cannot dock his pay to cover breakages.

If you do it could mean he could take the matter to an industrial tribunal and would probably win.

  3. Exemptions generally include trees that fall into the categories of:

    Productive orchards for fruit.

    Crown lands

    Dedicated woodland

Dead , dying and diseased trees

Statutory Bodies undertaking work. ( utilities)

    Planning permissiion obtained

    Act of Parliament

    Trees are undersize.

    correct me if i'm wrong

  4. Nobody mentioned GMI at sidcup in kent.

They are cheap, quick to take your money , they don't like giving credit. For some making the whole payment in one go is too hard though.

Not sure what this years cost will be as we had a 3rd party claim against us recently. I'm guessing at about 1500 quid.

If anyone else has has claims against their insurance I would be keen to know how much it affected the premiums

  5. The Mewp has its place, there was little sound wood up this honey, so out came the hoist ,safer than climbing it. I would rather have the tree down but the owners wanted it trimmed up, whatever that is.So I ( re)topped it. The top lost up to 5 metres in height.
