  1. For tipping of timber and chippings please phone 07795 314202 first to make sure that the site is open. If the gate is locked there is no tipping at this site. We are interested in all tree surgery bi-products and we even have the facility to convert large or small trunks on our bandsaw.
  2. It should be, however I do have an active, sometimes overactive, spam filter of necessity. I suggest that any interested parties always request a "read receipt" if sending an email so that you will know that it has arrived and been seen, or you could write to 9 Lowland Way, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 9AG or phone me on 01565 621234. Please re-send your email to be certain. [email protected] (my personal email [email protected]) or the CAS treasurer Bev Lownds email is [email protected]
  3. The cost is likely to remain similar to previous ones, between £80 and £90. The Certificates are in process as this goes out, My apologies to all who are waiting for them but anybody who has successfully completed the workshop and assignment is then eligable for CAS Professional Membership which gives them the right to use the logo and to have their listing on the webpage relating to that Area of Professional Competence.
  4. Colin, we will have to chat about your membership of CAS... The TPO workshop is aimed at everybody. CAS sees this as a low but essential rung on the Consulting Arboriculture ladder. The next one is tentatively scheduled for the end of Feb, somewhere in the NW, but it is dictated by the take up rate therefore any of you interested in attending, get your names to me fast ([email protected]) The helmet issue...! I did a risk assessment before this simulation of a climbing inspection and assessed the risk to myself as acceptable/negligable. I take professional risks and have done so within Arboriculture for 24 years. I have one small scar on my forehead and numerous overlapping scars on my left index finger to show for all that horrendous risk taking. The next chairman of CAS (as I am standing down in April having done the job for 7 years) may well want to replace that snap shot. The criticism has been levelled at me because it is said that I in some ways represent the industry. In fact I only represent myself. Therefore it is for all or some of you to raise your own profile and promote what you believe to be important and not for me to adopt things that I don't necessarily believe in just so that I better represent you. An opportunity for one of you to raise your profile presents itself in April at the CAS AGM which will be held again at Capel Manor's Celebration of Trees. The rest, is up to you.... The "venerable" David Lloyd-Jones (that's mine, I'm keeping it! ;-)
  5. Dagmar said "Surely this is a case of the removal of a post(s) that contain unsubstantiated allegations that are quite serious, as such it should be removed as the allegations cast serious doubts about the integrety of an individual." Well you should be aware that my post from the now removed thread said this..... "Mr Bashford, I find myself in the unusual position of supporting you in a sense because I do not believe that Mr Burgess resigned simply because you misled the BoD of the ISA UK+I Chapter (and in doing so cost the Chapter approx £3000). I am of the opinion that a more significant factor in his decision was the way that most of the ISA UK+I Board of Directors apparently accepted being misled (and the costs associated with that), and did nothing (beyond extracting an apology), to censure or otherwise reprimand you. If you succeed in becoming ISA President now the votes are in, you will, in my opinion, have made yourself the New Statesman of Arboriculture, however you will have done so without the benefit of my vote." Please understand that I posted that specifically because Mr Bashford suggested that Mr Burgess's post was slanderous but then failed to offer any insights to justify that allegation. Now you all get to decide if you think some things that some may not want to discuss are actually worth talking through. This IS a private forum and the owner and moderators can remove anything that they don't want to see aired. But for those who always want to focus on positives (that certainly do litter this forum and make it so popular), to the exclusion of all else, you might be missing part of the picture. Remember, you can apply personal censorship because you don't actually have to read the thread.
