1. The axe is from Finland, i have used a tire for splitting for 6 years maybe and it works perfect with the Gränsfors large splitting axe that i use, it's saves allot of time from not picking up the wood after each hit and if you can walk around the stump and swing tha axe at the same time the speed will be wicked :)

But you must have a axe with broad cheaks so it does'nt get stock in the wood after each hit, i have tested a bunch of axes including Fiskars splitting axes but the did wedge them self in the wood to easy, the Gränsfors get stuck allso but not near as much as the Fiskars !!

Give this tire thing a chance and you will wonder why you did not do years ago :)

way faster then a splitter in the right sized wood !!

  2. There is a clip of it running,, though the saw is a bit beaten up after falling out of bucket truck :)

  3. The fuel changing problem that i have seen is mostly with saws that been run for many years with regular gas and 35-40:1 mix !

A friend have a 357xpg etech and runs what gas he gets his hands on regular or aspen it all goes in the saw and it still lives and runs fine after three years.

Personally i'm a bit more careful and only runs aspen in all my saws, hedgecutters and trimmers !

The saws are woodsported and looks like new inside despite the abuse they get :)

  4. my brother and our leonberger boden the most violent dog in the world lol hes scared of his own shadow:001_rolleyes:

    Nice looking Lion :)

got two of them myself !!

  5. The quantity is not a prob as your for mentioned co supplys 200ltr. It os just getting someone to store it that is the hold up!

Do you tune your equip to cope with the lean 'imo' mix? may it be burning to hot, thus coroding your exausts quick?

As far as tuning goes you might have to re-tune the saw when you start using aspen 2t in your saws and for the lean part i have two woodsported saws a 372xpgw and 346xpg both running apsen premix and they both look like new in the cyl/pis !!

Tune your saws as a normal aspen is just allot cleaner then regular gas thats why it smells less and brun clean in your engine :)

It's only one problem with it and that is the cost ,,, cost a bunch here in Sweden too

  6. Where would i get a muffler mod from mate??

Buy a deflector for a 288xp and cut a "hole" in the muffler in the size that the deflector cover screw or weld the deflector in place, i buy mesh screen and put there aswell so no durt can find it's way in to the muffler, then i adjust the carb and enjoy a more power full saw :)

  7. Thanks for showing these pics, glad to see that a regular bottlejack works, been thinking of testing that setup but never got arround to do it !!!

I looked at some bottlejacks designed for tree fellig on a german online store (grübe) and they are more compact and wider but they cost a small fortune but they lift 30ton would be very neat to have one :)

  8. I'm just about 6'4", and have no trouble finding tall fit trousers. Just bought a pair of Oregon Fjordland trousers (type A) 36-38"waist long leg and they are fit just so. Maybe worth a look to see if they do a Type C if you are doing aerial work.

Andy how do like the Fjordland ?

i'm tall person myself and would like the extra length of those trousers, are comfy and easy move around in ??

  9. I thought they were made by wetlings, they used to be made by hults i think. Its not a bad hatchet for the money it just hasn't had the time spent on it like the GB.

I agree they don't get the same tlc but as you say for the money they are very good axes but that beeing said i will take a GB over them every day in the week :)

  10. sjh the Husqvarna axe is made by Wetterlings which makes very good axes aswell they use the same steel in there heads and last year Gränsfors bought Wetterlings so it's a sister company to Gränsfors now !!!

I got some axes from Wetterlings and they are top notch :)
