  1. I've been using a micro pulley, sometimes I use a sling and carabiner as a friction saver, some day i'll invest in a retrievable one..
  2. This thread has prompted me to have a play around with a vt.. Been using it the past week or so on scraggy little conifers and a couple of takedowns. Really looking forward to trying it in a big spreading tree, its a luxury walking back in to the stem and only needing one hand to tend the slack..
  3. Only ever use a topping strop with a timber hitch..
  4. Definitely Old Skool Cool for me..
  5. Cut chuck, hold cut and chuck, cut cut break chuck, chuck break hold cut, whatever takes my fancy.
  6. I use a tiny little 22cc echo saw one handed all the time, its made for it!! Cut and chuck..
  7. I'm 21, had chainsaw tickets since I was 17, and been climbing since I was 18. I'm the lead climber at work, the youngest, and the shortest climber you're likely to see at about 5'2...
  8. Failed AS levels, did Countryside Management NC, got chainsaw license, got job, left job, got climbing tickets, got another job, left job, got a better job, and then the other climbers quit to travel the world leaving little me in charge. Nutters
  9. More storm damage work from January - Macrocarpa had fallen over, the guy I was working with cut the top of the tree off, and the butt end tipped up, taking saw with it.
  10. Prusik all the way, but a little metal thingyjig when i'm using a strop.
  11. Final part of storm damage work from the winds in january, cutting the root ball off of a huge fallen sycamore that fell onto a house. Tree was standing near the top of a steep 30ft bank, with gardens below, but fell upwards, leaving the rootplate hanging off the ledge.
