  1. Maybe this will help.......keyring 'biner holds chainsaw. The only thing I can think of is to swap the handsaw and chainsaw points and attach the end of the chainsaw lanyard to my side d-ring THIS IS ONLY ON A TRIM SAW!!! instead of the rear mount. This would keep the chainsaw and lanyard in front of the handsaw!
  2. I am right handed so the handsaw and chainsaw are on the right. Lanyard on left. My main problem is the chansaw more than the handsaw. The chainsaw side hookup is a little too far back for a comfortable takeoff/return. Moving it anymore forward will interfere with the handsaw. The other issue is that the chainsaw lanyard keeps getting hung up on the handsaw scabbard. Forget the leg mounted handsaw scabbard.
  3. I really like this saddle. My only complaint is the placement of the handsaw and the chainsaw (not the hookup in the rear but where to hang it on your side). I just can't get this to be comfortable. Can you guys post some pics of your setups???
  4. Zubat.......330mm!
  5. Anyone experimenting with this anymore.............I've about given up!!!
  6. Nice little limbwalk.............if you look hard that is me on the left!!!
  7. After 2 attempts with this setup I am of the opinion that a prussic loop is the way to go. While the Ropeman may slide up easier the fact that the Ropeman wants to advance while taking up slack takes all the advantage out of using the Ropeman. The prussic locks in both directions making this much more user friendly. The prussic also seems to make going back to the normal system easier also! Changing TIP's is easy as long as you remember to clip the 'biner that the spliced end is attach to...........to the ring on the bridge.
  8. Anyone get more time on this setup???
  9. I have a couple different things I am playing with.............one idea in particular may turn out to be pretty cool we will see!!!
  10. Please do!!!
  11. Exactly............just a learning curve!!!
  12. I will try to get some pics to help this along!!!
  13. I received my Ropeman today and set everything up just as you have it!!! The one thing that I noticed is that depending on which angle you take up slack in the lower position.........if you pull toward you the whole unit functions as normal...........if you pull away from you the whole thing advances away. I hope this makes sense!!! Is it supposed to do this???
  14. I've been all over that thread and on the other sites as well....just got my Ropeman today. I understand now!
  15. Steve..............I like this one as you have no additional hardware On this one...........why is the splice not attached to the 'biner???
  16. This is one time (provided the funds allow it) that it is nice to have a backup climbing saw. Even if it a used POS whatever............as long as it starts and runs!!!
  17. What I lack is the natural ability to climb that most of you guys have! Putting Beddes at a 15 ( out of 10...........he is that good) I am prolly a 2! I don't climb fulltime or near as much as I need to better myself.............maybe that is it...............dunno............I am done ranting!!!
