  1. Sure is in Florida and yes, it ensures a bigger cod piece
  2. Billy bargain! Where's me chainsaw? Found while searching for logs
  3. Just a thought, I got 2x tile crates from our neighbour that held his paving slabs which would hold approximately the same as an IBC very solid and would have been binned otherwise. A possible solution?
  4. I have over 37 and a couple of partial years but due to changes in 2016 I needed more however the incremental increases added to the tax on top of my current pension doesn't make much difference when my savings could be making money at the same time so for me it is not really worthwhile but for some it could mean quite a lot.
  5. If you are getting to this stage and have had periods of unemployment/not paying NI, please check if you are short of qualifying years and what you will get. You have until the end of the financial year or you lose a year or part of a year as you can only go back a certain amount of years depending on whether you are employed or self employed etc It's easy to check online and if it is a bit confusing then there is the phone line and the guy who I spoke to was very good he was basically saying, without saying, that I would be end up throwing a few thousand pounds in the tax coffers for a very small return over a long time compared to what I could do with the money now.
  6. Well over 50 but retired in my early 50's but still active, gym, swim and fishing and plenty of cutting, splitting and stacking in late winter.
  7. I was similar, however I have a fiskars which is much better, lighter, sharper, and splits most things. The only thing I need the maul for is when the wood has lots of knots/branches
  8. What are you trying to split it with, type or make?
  9. Yeah I get that, it was a fave for a while, same as brewdog, but now sadly hollow shells of their former selves. Locally they have Wainwright's which will do until I get to microbus in town or the boathouse in Wylam.
  10. Not sure about the best bar oil but this is pretty good and available in many bars now
  11. If Billy's tackle shop doesn't have it try the Chinese supermarket freezer?
  12. Ah naa! I had been away for over 45 years and found a face ache page of my old school and he and a few others weren't on it but a quick search found him, which was nice as one of my best mates died in the early 90's iirc he was a tree surgeon and died in a work accident. I've still not got to see any gigs in little buildings yet 😕
  13. Many moons ago I got given my first fishing rod, now I have around 15 for various ways of securing myself something tasty to eat and enjoy catching tiddlers as much as shark however I never enjoyed watching it until now... https://www.fishtrack.com/article/how-to-catch-and-rig-live-ballyhoo Don't think I will see that on a boat on the north sea but it keeps me interested
  14. If there's any confusion call him Nalla, I'm pretty sure he won't mind.
  15. I know that place, and I went to school with him...small 🌎
