  1. Thanks for the extra input guys. I suppose it goes to show there's no right or wrong answer with a lot of these things. I think I'll try to use the saw every so often and that way it won't lay idle for months on end.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I'll take it all on board. Maybe I need to get a 500ml mixing bottle instead of a 1l.
  3. Hi, just bought my first petrol chainsaw, a Stihl MS212. I just wanted some advice about storage. If it won't be used for a couple of months at a time, should I drain the petrol out? How long does pump fuel/oil mixture last in the mixing bottle? Or am I over thinking it and it'll be fine whatever I do within reason? Any advice welcome!
  4. Married With Small Engines is also very good. Being new to petrol chainsaws, it's been very helpful to learn what all the bits inside do.
  5. Ha! Thanks Gareth for your input. Having looked at previous posts as well, the plain MS212C it is then!
  6. Okay, thanks Dan. I should have looked at previous posts. I'll take a look...
  7. Hi, I'm going to purchase a Stihl MS212 but am wondering if the C-BE version of it is worth the extra outlay over the base version for the soft-start function etc. I'm a homeowner with some woodland but would be an occasional user only. Thanks in advance for any advice.
