Can anyone recommend a good place to get some handles from? I need 3x 36" with a 4 1/2" socket for some 7lb felling heads, all the handles I've seen so far have been pretty poor quality and can't see them lasting more than 5 mins, just looking for something a bit more substantial in quality.

I doubt you'll find any. I always make my own. Just find some nice ash about 8 rings to the inch with the grain running as you want your hafts to be.

Hi Python

I'm a trustee of a small charity that refurbs tools that we send to Tanzania. We also

refurb green woodworking tools to sell, bill hooks, axes, drawknives etc. We buy lots of good quality axe handles so could possibly sell you some. Give me a pm and I'll try and sort a price.
