breakdown cover with trailer

After breaking down a week ago 150 miles from home, while towing trailer, it was the trailer that had a problem not the car, I was told by the breakdown company that they dont cover trailers unless the car has a fault,( then they will tow both) i dint read the very small print my mistake, So my question is which breakdown compaines do you use who cover the vehicle and also trailers and chippers say if bearing went etc.

My AA cover does and I explicitly emphasised this to them when I bought it

£70 quid and cover what ever i'm driving upto 3.5tonn

Another vote for the AA! Been brilliant for me, does cost me a bit but well worth it!
