well it does look like australe, but its coming up on the dysfunctional wood under the Helical/torsion crack, so I would say applanatum due to size, though australe can be up to about 18 inches across, the trees throwing down good anchoring new roots, over the old core. its probably not as bad as it looks, is it full crowned? dying back? big leaves? dark green?

I will have an other look and get back to you if its applanatum thats cool i havent seen that one before cheers.
