Amongst others in the series, there is what looks to be a very interesting lecture from Professor Lynne Body, entitled;

'Out of sight, Out of Mind: our lives depend on the hidden kingdom-fungi'

Lynne Body is current president of the British Myco Society & Prof of Mycology at Cardiff University

Appologies for the late nod, as it takes place at Birkbeck, University of London on Friday the 23rd October. 18:00hrs - 20:30hrs

I'd imagine the free seats will now be scarce, but worth contacting if interested.

I've been going along for the last few years, they are generally very good.

Up for a Myco/Arb pint after, if anyones up for it.

Cheers

David

With only 1200 being described per year worldwide.

Beter up me myco-hunting then :001_tongue:

Wonder if I could get a grant for looking for mushrooms :sneaky2:

Yeah...unfortunately I got quite a cooling down. It was damp and cold by about midnight! :thumbdown:

Lynne Boddy was indeed quite entertaining which makes a huge difference to the experience for me. I guess she has developed a style and technique over the years not to mention a wealth of reliable and considered information on her subject. This means she seems well able to vocalise her knowledge whilst keeping it accessible & pertinent to other disciplines. As an arbo, I found it very interesting.

Sure, there were a number of astonishing revelations throughout the presentation .:thumbup1:

Quote of the evening....

" Tree's are just thick!!"
