Stein helmet

Last year i bought a stein climbing helmet. I only use it occasionally. I find it poor at suppressing noise, but I find that my left ear defender keeps falling out.

 

Talking to other users they say this is common as the joint or circular part wears and falls out?

 

I have a husky helmet that is years old, provides better suppression and all original.

 

Have I been unlucky?

 

Just wondering whether to buy another stein (allows me salvage parts) or upgrade?

I've got one of these, one of the ear defenders came off as the tiny screw holding it on fell out, maybe yours is the same? No problem with noise suppression though
