Bat Boxes

Hello all,Ive been offered some work in Loch Lomond national park installing bat boxes.

Ive not had much information as yet i just know its 40 boxes.I dont know how many other climbers are doing it either.

Just wondered if anyone has any experience doing this.

Most of the ones I've done, have been near or on buildings. And a two section ladder was all I needed.

 

Thats interesting,i hadent even concidered ladders,as i said i dont have much info as yet but i just assumed it would be climbing work so rope access up the tree.

Like TGB says ladders are best, most boxes I've installed are usually only 4 to 6m up on the main trunks, this allows for easy inspection. If they are made of timber then there nice and light but the cast ones made of sawdust and concrete can be heavy. I've used a sling and small pulley around the trunk chocked a few feet above installation point and got someone to simply pull them up. Have they said how they want them attached?

No ive had very little info so far,ive emailed them to get updates but heard nowt back as yet.

All the info i have is 40 bat boxes to be mounted in various sites around loch lomond national park
