If you can climb it and just cut small pieces free fall onto the lawn then it won't shock the tree too much, your weight isn't going to make much difference up in the tree.

 

That's what I read. All I'm saying is we haven't seen the tree and should be careful what we suggest to any one online. Iv climbed plenty of dead trees and sounds like you have but we've made the decision based on experience and being on site with all the factors in front of us.
