ok so i've posted elsewhere in the forum asking about employment,

http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/97939-getting-first-job.html

But I've got a related question I thought would be better put here. I've booked on CS30,31,38,39 over the next few months (while finishing up some previous unrelated work).

In addition I'd like to pick up some first aid training. Not sure whether that's truly necessary, but either way I feel like it's something I (and any prospective employer) would be happier if i had.

So, what's the recommended course? HSE 3 day first aid at work? 1 day emergency first aid? Or something else?

I've a few previous maritime first aid qualifications, all about to expire.

I guess I'd add that budget is seriously relevant, but if it'll improve my chances of getting a job - I'm interested! If not, maybe i'll delay a few months.

Thanks for the input all!

We are looking into refresher training in first aid and have been advised to do a first aid + F course apparently this deals with larger wounds more typical to forest injuries. I haven't booked one yet but will look into it soon.

I have a trainer come and do the EFAW+F course every year for my teams. It lasts 3 years if you do a short refresher but for the cost the full course is well worth it. (£100 max per person). You do want the +F (forestry) as this adds the major trauma element to the course.

I would only expect the leader of a big crew to hold the 3 day course certificate
