Biochar from Spruce brash

Recommended Posts

Rather than turning our Sitka brash into a huge early GuyFawkes bonfire I'd like to use it for something more useful.

Does spruce brash make a good biochar? Anyone tried this or have any top tips?

Only looking to do it on a relatively small scale/ possibly using up-cycled, re-purposed oil drums.

cheers, steve

Yes indeed. Any carbon based lifeforms.

Excellent. I'll chuck in a few MP's as well then.... :laugh1:

Next question would be which DIY oil drum kiln should I be making?

(in terms of low cost & efficiency).

cheers, steve
