Ganoderma on Acer saccharinum =D

First time I have seen any fungus whatsoever on Acer saccharinum. Usually a rather sterile species, I find! Cool shots I got earlier on today, and I'm still pretty delighted at finding this (I seriously have been looking at every silver maple I come across, in the hope of finding something). I suspect it's G. australe, though I haven't a tamed mycologist at hand to confirm.

I'd concur to a degree but seek and thou shall find

 

This silver maple (although now dead) has both Polyporus squamosus and one of the appla/australe Ganodermas fruiting on mass.

and these three silvers have Kretzschmaria deusta (first two trees) and Ganoderma sp (last tree)

Cracking shots, there! Liking the Kretz, though that stack of Gano is really quite sublime. Made a mental note to look for these species, or evidence of, as well.
