Looking for some help here. I have recently acquired a rather old poulan 2000 12" chainsaw. The plastic threads on the fuel tank have stripped. I have tried looking on several sites to find a replacement tank however they all say that the part is no longer available and cannot offer up any suitable replacements. Does anyone know a fuel tank that would fit this model? Alternatively does anyone know how to fix stripped plastic threads?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Build the threads up with something like JBweld, wait till it starts to tack off then grease the inside of the cap and screw it on lightly. Take it back off after an hour or so. Can't guarantee it but it's worth a try.
