Thought you might be interested in the above mentioned book David. You may have come across it already but if not definately worth it. Have read quite a few of his works and his prose is unique.

Jeffries has written extensively on the Natural History of England. Books about the Red Deer on Exmoor, Gamekeeping, Poaching, Country Estates etc etc. For all of you who are interested in these fields then his works are a must.
