Pricing a job

I have spoken to a number of arbs about how they price their work to remain competitive in the credit crunch. I'm fairly new at this, but i think the 3 most important thing are:

1. Labour time and the location of the tree (e.g awkward/Distance)

2. Will it involve road a closure

3. What kit is required to do the task

Do most people work on those principles or have i missed something?? Personally for me this hasn't changed regardless of the credit crunch!

personally i have not changed my prices , if i had lowered my prices because of the credit crunch my customers would start to ask why i can afford to lower my prices and if im still making a living then surely i have been charging them to much all along , its just like the guy locally that offers O.A.P discounts , surely if he can work that cheaply for OAP's then he can work at the same rate for anyone elts ?? during the recession the danger of our job has not got lower and neither has the cost of the tools that we use , both stihl and husky have put their prices up by over 15% .
