bottom roller removal

i have noticed that the 2 bolts that hold the bottom roller in place from the opposite side to the motor have broken off, causing the roller to drop on one side, so these bolts need replacing.

I have noticed that from other posts you have said that the 'roller spline' can be hard to remove.

once the bolts have been removed I take it that it should just slide out! but I assume that sap etc. builds up on this and makes it difficult to just slide out.

have you any tips on removing this.

also do you think that the bolts that go into the roller spine would be thread locked in.

The bolts are indeed thread locked in, on both the stub shaft and spline drive ends.

 

Spline drive removal; Once the 3 cap screws are removed the spline can be withdrawn from the roller body. With the cap screws out try getting mole grips between one of the cap screw countersunk holes and the centre spline aperture, set the grips tight then wriggle the spline drive out.
