Id book a short NPTC climbing course with the training (think there done over a week) you will be taught to access the tree safely,you will then find out if you like working at height! If you like it then you can progress into arboriculture with something like the 10 week tree surgery course.

 

PS I have a huge amount of respect for you guy/girls and the job you carry out.
