Unidentified fungi

Hi all,

 

 

We spotted a single white greasy capped mushroom (about 1.5 inches in length and same in width) up in the canopy on a length of deadwood of a Turkey Oak today (sorry no pictures).

 

It was greasy to the touch and top centre of cap faded into dark grey in colour.

 

No other signs of decay on the tree, would anybody be able to express what this could be please?

It sounds like it may be Oudemensiella mucida, the porcelain fungi.
