Merip on 90% dead sycamore?

I think i have spotted Merip fruiting at the bottom of a dying Sycamore. The targets are a heavily used path and rough picnic area. The tree has been in decline for years but this year it has what appears to be merip at the base. Four other trees are showing signs of significant die back in the vicinity so will be felled at the same time.

Looks like butt rot from here. Will you need to decontaminate your saws after cutting down the trees?. How have you been?

Hi ted. Luckily not as the trees we would subsequently fell, the stumps would be ground out. Not bad been on a rough road this year but would rather say via PM whats been happening.
