How long will the New Zealand skills shortage last?

Do you remember how much and the process of it? i only really have nptc tickets and nvq apprentership... im a bit confused weather to count any certs towards my points system as with them i get the magic number to get auto picked out and without them im not... why is it that they are world recognised certs except in nz??

 

 

I honestly can't remember cos it was a fair while ago now but I think I just sent everything off to the NZQA and they told me what everything was worth. Funnily enough they didn't recognise my FTC cert but the guy who cross credited for my NZ arb qualification said there was nothing to that standard in NZ.

Just as an alternative; if you're looking at residency and don't meet the points criteria you can always take the side door under the work to residency option.

As for your certs; I'd contact the NZQA and talk directly to them.

NZQA website is quoting around $800 for a qualification assessment. And using a good immigration lawyer is a very good idea as Fredward says. I used one in the end and it saved me a heap of headaches despite the bill.

what level qualifications did you have? I am doing the level 3 90 credit arboriculture and forestry course at kirkley hall, and I can do the second year too, or a foundation degree next year. Then after that I will do two years post qual experience and fly over

City and Guilds phase 1 Forestry and National Cert in Horticulture/Conservation. Managed to cross credit those along with my experience and get the NZ National Cert in Arb level 4.
