Hi I've been asked to drop 6 mature oak trees in Southampton and I'm going to mill as much of it as I can but there will be tons of other wood that I would like to transport to my unit in South Wales . Does anyone know of haulage company that would transport it up there but it would be in lengths it would be all nuggets up. There is access at road side I can get all the wood to road side .i think like a huge tipper with grab or summit can some one give me some idea of how to go about this as I'm new to log hauling

Thanks

Whilst I hate to see good timber wasted I think the haulage will be too expensive to make it worthwhile.

Do you know that the trees likely have a high heartwood ratio?

I would be meanwhile posting its availability for others on here. As carting in a tipper that distance thers going to be alot of airspace.

Assuming you get it milled on the job, hauling milled timber will be more efficient.

Try the grab lorry people on the other side of the estate Chris, he's got a 32 tonner with a grab but your looking big money from Southampton. I'm guessing he will only get 10/15 ton on as well. Quoted £200 from us to Cardiff so probably £600/700 per load down there and back
