Fallen lime

About a two minute drive from home is a fallen lime it has been there for a while and has some rot, the owner of the field is more than happy for me to remove it, so I was wondering if it would be any good for carving.

My initial thought was to carve a large wood spirit with the root bowl for hair, what do you recon?

I've never carved it but I believe it'll be good. Used a lot for indoor stuff I think, like old church carvings and the like. A favourite for hand carvers. Not sure how it holds up outside.

Anyway, I see, a hydra.

Tail end- limb on the ground, going up and over to the root ball, then back on itself and up to the multiple heads. That would be awesome!

Somebody should make that happen. The setting as well.
