Girth hitches are ok if you have a supple rope mate. Also if you get the bunny eared alpine small then it can be cinched to smaller diameter branches rather than a long leftover piece from the single alpine. Much much neater like this

what about just doing a big alpine and girth hitching in onto the ring? it would sit a lot nicer and not be as bulky. good stuff though lads.

Yes from a distance it's hard to see if the bina is cross loaded or if the gate is rubbing against the stem. For a quick and up close attachment point I see nothing wrong. But I defiantly wouldn't suggest it as a main anchor.

Glad you told me Adam. Better switch to a ring then. Been using a biner....
