I just bought a s/h Honda UMK425UE brushcutter, works very well with the strimmer head but noticed there is a little play when fitting a blade because the raised section of the circular part the blade fits over is slightly worn, (by about 1mm)...once bolted down it seems to run without any problem/vibes so either I got lucky when fitting it or it doesn't really matter!?

Would you run it like this or replace that part? ie: should the blade be a tight fit generally?

It won't be a tight fit but if you have 1mm of wear I think I would be inclined to replace the part. If it moves when being used and starts to vibrate then you might cause damage to the machine.

There's play in our husky clearing saw but once you tighten the blade it should not matter.

Honda brush cutter has to be one of the best on the market.

It's a great little tool...really torquey and smooth, makes a change from the two-stoke for sure, I really like it. I'll keep my eye on it as I'm using it with a blade over the next day or so but there doesn't appear to be any issues. I sent a few e mails off earlier for price/availability.
