TW190 fuel tank leaking

We have a new(ish) Timberwolf 190, at around 170 hrs (and about a year old). We noticed that there is a leak from the fuel tank underneath for the last few months. Its not a big leak but in the morning you can see the tank base is wet and a pool of diesel underneath.

We have had it serviced not so long ago and they said it was an issue with the tank and the connectors vibrating and then leaking. They said they can change it but it'll be the same parts and as such will start to leak again.

Just seeing if others are having the same issue, or what they have done to stop it.

cheers

Hello Reuben

Sorry to hear you are having an issue with a leaking fuel tank on your Timberwolf chipper. The fuel tank is a moulded plastic construction with brass inserts which can occasionally leak due to damage, over tightening of the drain bung or if the seal between the insert and plastic is not entirely bonded.

Vibration should not be the cause of this unless it is of an excessive level that would highlight a more significant issue.

We can certainly get this rectified for you one way or another, if you could call me on 01449 765820.

Thanks

Barry Adams
