I've been gifted a lathe?

If you go onto ebay and type in sip wood lathe, someone is selling one like yours, mouse over pic and you will see the part you want on the head stock where your faceplate is. You may be able to get one from sip. Or on another listing is a sip chuck for £70 inc postage and get a steb centre and you will be able to do spindle work.

 

But if you take up steves offer he can explain it better to you.

Just had a quick google and the spindle thread is 3/4 x 16tpi which is great because you'll be able to pick up any extras you need easily.

Not sure what Morse taper it is but I'd be very surprised if its not a mt1 both ends.
