valvoline durablend 10w-40 synthetic blend is the stuff i put in.

thanks carl

How many hours on the machine? Arguably a bit thick (10-30 typical) for a new motor but summers coming and you've picked a quality oil... Has a high TBN so check for plug fouling... Most likely be fine :thumbup1:

Update; I've checked the Kawasaki manual (fine engine indeed) and normal lube is 10W30 however your 10W40 will resist oil consumption when hot; keep that oil in there.

it has no hours clock but is over 10 years old and lived on an estate where they used the ass off it! that said i would like to keep it going for as long as possible so dont mind changing the oil again if the 10w 40 will harm the engine.

thanks for your help.

No, the 10W40 will suit the old lump just fine
