dolmar 112 problem need help

i got a dolmar 112 silver i put a new cylinder and piston,spark plug so it has spark it will turn over but just a few seconds then dead the carb looks good the sawman went through the carb says no problems with the carb,now the guy i bought the saw says he put new fuel lines and filter but left it on the shelve for 3 years with some gas in it,the fuel lines are not brittle so i dont no its got compression my guess is its not getting fuel some how any advice thanks.

Check for spark - earth it on the cylinder away from the plug hole(fuel ignites) and make sure you have fat spark, check compression or at least make sure the compression feels good. Check to see if the plug is wet when the saw is pulled over on choke for 10 pulls or so.

 

A working engine needs fuel, spark and compression - it is probably the carb as most issues usually are!
