Came across this (what I believe to be) dryadeus, at Alice Holt a couple of days ago.

Needed some help with the Id, as it didn't come across like a typical form, though host and flesh/tubes lead to it as I. d

Poor quality shots I'm afraid. :blushing:

.

Interesting David...Not atypical.:001_smile: Did the exudation at the stem not reinforce your suspicions?

Quality aerial view!

that dryadeus has been getting very wet, hence the none typical look of it, i could be wrong!

Interesting resis, not quiet the same formations in the buts, but that oak we saw at jonsies show was VERY low in the swelling, almost confined to the last 1ft of trunk/rootcrown.

I guess what we should be saying is mostly typical with odd variations.

the exudation stops on maturity, the body darkens to a red brown/black and falls, IME the exudation lasts the duration of active sporalation, and ceases when spore production does.:001_cool:

Yeah I get that Tony, good insight :thumbup1:

Though these ones from a day or two before the Alice Holt one, are pretty much at the same stage if not further along, and still have gutation.

I guess the persistent recent rain has done for the AH one.
