Need Help, What Wood is This

That's great because I know their is a lot of ash there but as I was not sure I left it for what I hoped was oak.

 

I have severe jealousy of you tree surgeons as I was like a kid in a sweet shop but you guys get to do it everyday, there is about 2 miles of trees fell so I will be able to take my time and take pictures of the trees to learn more about them.

Ash is a good wood for burning for several reasons; it dosnt need as much time to season, it burns hot and leaves very little deposit in the flue.

 

Also when you cut an Ash, it pollards nicely as the stump will continue to grow new stems. Its also fairly quick growing, weve seen 3 metres a year but its a fair bit south here.

 

You're fortunate having access to some woodland so take care of it.
