I was shocked the first time I saw a ZZ in the flesh.

It simply looks weak.

 

The Bulldog Bone on the other hand looks like a properly engineered hunk of metal.

 

Different applications I know, but I can't see why Petzl are so obsessed with minimising weight on the ZZ.

I get five to six months climbing out of a zigzag. When compared to the number of sj cams i used to get through it amounts to the same money. Just put it down to a cost id rather pay than climbing on cord...
