I am using Inferno 11mm line at the mo, its a great rope with the vt set-up, my only problem with it is it kills my hands to grip it when ascending, which is why I have stuck to using the NE hi-viz for so long. I only have to do 3 or 4 pull-ups and my hands really start to cramp. Any ideas how I resolve this issue as I like the line?

1. buy a rope guide

2. sticky gloves, although i believe you wear them anyway

3. wear a pantin, but again, i beleieve you have one.

4. lose some weight

5. set your v.t away from you by either attaching a sling between your harness and hitch set up, or by setting your v.t away from you with

a midline knot.

oh heres another thing, try and move more dynamically, ie, dont just hang there like a dead weight pulling yourself, and ditch the body thrusting too, i try and almost leap as i pull. its actually easier to climb faster, and go for an ascent in 1 hit rather than stopping for rests every 20ft

because it will be self advancing, you wont need to go hand over hand and tend slack every other pull, so you can move in each sequence 2 handed taking wraps round your hands if needed
