Hi, I sometimes use a dremel to sharpen my chains, but i am getting increasingly frustrated at the poor quality and cost of the sharpening stones i get ( oregon ). Does any one know where i can get some diamond ones from, and will they last any longer.

Also i notice that the granberg sharpening stones are similar but with a thread on the end, will these stones fit the dremel and are they any better.

I'm not really interested in buying another sharpener, i just want some decent longer lasting stones for my dremel, if thats possible.

thanks

Harvey.

Hi, when I got the granberg grinder I did notice that the stones were accurate and good quality compared to some others i`d used, it`s fine with the thread , the diamond ones are on ebay. cheers

I have some flat diamond sharpeners and love them. Great for chisels, planes and other such tools.

Good quality files are the best way to sharpen a chainsaw chain. You can probably dress the top with a diamond coated file but unless you have the perfect sized round sort this may not be so easy.
