shipping a chainsaw to NZ

A mate of mine moved to NZ about 10 yrs ago and took his saw. I remember that it had to be absolutely spotless due to NZ laws.

Hey mate, shipped my 200T back to NZ about 2yrs ago with a company called Anglo pacific (UK based) cleaned it up really well and sprayed it with a disinfectent anti bac spray, went thru customs fine, there is a fee of around NZD40.00 if I remember correctly to release it from customs that's not included in the shipping price.

Guy I know moved to NZ to set up horticulture business took all his UK specialist equipment with him but it was all stripped, steam cleaned, resprayed and reassembled without oils coolant etc. Went through no problem but customs where pleased he had taken so much care and attention.

Thanks guys got a mate who is just going back with a couple of saws will see how he gets on.. The stripping and cleaning sounds like the way to go...

If you do freight it, im pretty sure if you declare it as a gift you can get away with some extra charges.
