I use facebook for ads for my business and I do get work and its free

Had one for a couple of years now as a page.

 

Have got numerous jobs through it.

 

I also have a widget on the main website which displays the feed into the front page, this means i can update one thing from my phone it posts it through fb to my website also, keeps it fresh.

 

I also use pinterest, google+, youtube and linkedin too but to a lesser extent.

if its advertising firewood then there are groups on facebook which are buy, sell and swaps there are ones for most towns so if you join the group then you can post in it but as said before dont do it too often otherwise you could be kicked off the group
