I have a 5.5 ton uni forest with remote and a manual 4 ton igland. The remote is awesome, I would never do without one now. The igland is a good simple winch but the drum is narrow and tall so cable spools up high reducing the gearing. This means that you get 4 ton when all the cable is out, but only about 2 when its almost in. The uni forest seems to have a lot more pull, even close in.

 

I like the uni forest a lot.
