whilst working on friday i noticed that the bottom feed roler had dropped down approximatley 1/2 inch so today i had a further look into it , i hook the hopper of and stripped the the hydraulic motor off of the bottom feed roler and taken the bottom feedroler plate off of the other side i then took the 3 bolts the apeared to be holding the bearing and feed roler together but can not seem to get the feed roler out or the bearing .

i would of had a look in the user manual however that was lent to a fellow tree surgeon and he lost it

also i have noticed that on the hydraulic motor side the bottom feed roler looks to have cut a clearence into the side plate of the feed roler housing . Does this also need replacing ??

your advice would be really appreciated as im right down in cornwall with no nearby dealers !

Many thanks Dave.

Hi Dave

If the bottom roller has dropped down it sounds that the stub shaft has either worn or the 2 plastic bush bearings need replacing.

To remove the roller you have proceeded correctly and now need to remove the adaptor spline from the front end of the roller, I suspect that this is jammed in due to residue, it may have a 10mm through tapped hole in it, if it has put a bolt in, wind in the bolt until it cracks the seal then wiggle it out , if not use the existing holes by putting the bolts back and wiggling out, once this is removed you then will be able to remove the bottom roller and inspect the other end.

I would susupect that this has happened a little while ago and the wearing on the side plate is due to the bearins becoming worn, once repaired it will sit correctly on the supports and cause no further problems.

thaks so much for your help and advice steve and for the further help over the phone , in the end i took 3 of the bottom feed roler blades off to remove some of the residue off , this worked a treat , may be your fitter could give it a go mate , i was amazed when i got the spline adaptor off thst there it was only being held in by dust and crap

any way chaps i thought i would take the time to say that this sevrice is great and well worth the effort taken to set it up and i would strongly reccomend anyone with a timberwolf problem to use it , steve at tech support really know,s his stuff !!!
