MS170/017 worth upgrading to .050?

Too right - especially as the chain actually on my saw doesn't even look like any of them - yet the manual says it's 91VG.

I watched that from the other thread and it's hard to believe the difference in performance between the two, quite amazing.

I am considering putting a narrower chain/bar on my MS170. At the moment it is on it's standard 3/8 pico. Can anyone suggest what would be the logical step. I was thinking 1/4 but I have no idea what bar, chain and sprocket I would need. I used an MS200 with a 1/4 chain today and it was a freaking rocket! I figure cutting down on metal mass and friction could only help to enhance the performance of the 170, which is, ,slightly underpowered. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
