Not really Jon, its difficult to quantify paying by the ton, too many variables at play, sometimes the timber thats been cut dont get forwarded for a long time after its been cut, and how would it be weighed anyway, any shirker not pulling their weight is soon found out and doesnt last long, anyway its a small world in forestry and people know who to trust,

Hi WAFFLE so you get payed on hr rate I like ton rate if I had people in good timber 1)2ft what will good chap cut per day thanks Jon

Its not all about cutting, sometimes there is a long walk of half a mile over stumps and brash up a steep hill before you start a saw, with your saw, can, and food bag it takes time to get there, how much gets cut depends on tree size, terrain, weather and fitness and work ethic of the indevidual,
