flying fox setup?

Anyone know how to setup a good flying fox? I want to be able to take my kids to the park and set one up. I thought about going through a grigri at the base of the tree (so i can raise it up or down) and up through a pulley and then across to the other tree. Not sure how to attatch it at the other end (just a knot?) and how to back it all up. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Also not sure how i stop them from slamming into the other tree.

hey bro we just set one up in town. tied to a plane tree on top of the hill and attached the bottom to another tree through a fiddle block at the bottom. as a brake we attached some slings with fall arrest bungys at the last ten and 5 metres. the fox was about 85m long, it worked sweet.went down ona petzl tandem pulley though i reckon any pulley would do really. think theres some pics on facebook

Chur bro. Saw some pics on there. Could'nt really see how the setup worked, looked like a bit of fun though. Have'nt actually seen those bungees mate, but fiddle block sounds good for gettin it all tight. Did you back it up with anything? Was it just tied straight to the top tree? Hows the weather up there? I've heard its a bit wet

tried to set one of those up the other day using an old climbing line as the zip line and two micro pulleys to go along the line, one as a back up. to control descent we treated it as you would when rigging a speed line but used it just to decellerate the climber at the end of the zipline. We also stuck a dolly on the line to tension it so when the climber hit that knot they were brought to a halt, albeit a bit suddenly.
