Fungus Bracket on Lime

Backpain

Recommended Posts

I discovered this on a customers tree about 2-1/2 years ago. Been back there today and its still there. The tree is sounding very hollow so I'm not expecting there to be much heartwood left.

It looks like Ganoderma applanatum to me but looking through the directory I can't see any references to Lime tree's though.

Just wondering if its saprophytic or parasitic?

Think the trees are about 120yrs old and pollarded.

Should I take it down?
