Rivals to Posch 360

Most processors can be enhanced with a section of plate secured to the log stop to prevent short logs rotating so easily as they fall into the splitting chamber ? (not made one yet though)

Posch 360 seams to be a solid machine but I was wondering what are the rivals to it such as fuelwood transaw. I process softwood so splitting force is too important but bigger the diameter the better. I'm going to APF so would like to do some homework beforehand.

Hi just read most of the answers,it seems to be personal preferance as to a chinsaw type or circular saw blade.

I have looked at the posch 350 and 360 they look good and seem popular but I run a 2008 palax 100s and cannot be convinced to change.I process about 1500 cubic metres a year and have the blade professionally sharpened once a year the belts are self tensioning

and last several seasons, only on second set! It weighs 2 tonnes so you do not move it much there are no bends or cracks and it is very easy to use and Caledonian forestry are good people to deal with.

Well worth a look at at the APF.

The whole chamber is slatted and does work but with the log cleaner in place it's really clean wood . The only thing that's annoyed me is that a log can get caught between the elevator and the cleaner and stop the elevator, Kilworth will sort it though.

 

 

Raise the whole machine by 4/5 inches
