Hi Kev! You are spot on with the location. I reckon we planted them right at the end of the planting season for 2010/2011. We had a very dry summer after we planted and I was pleasantly surprised to see such a good survival rate, especially given the clay soil. Funnily enough, Lisa and I drove past them on our way to the Mercury in Colchester on Friday evening and I was telling her about our discussion on the journey. BTW, you were spot on about the Donkey pub name. :001_smile:

They have done well then  not sure if you were involved with the shorter tubes in the foreground - they look like they never quite got going... also found this little fella on the path nearby. He didn't seem scared of me at all, held my phone about three inches from him to take the pic, then left left him chewing grass! Anyone know sort of beasty it is?

Is it a vole? Not sure from the angle. Great pic all the same. Not too sure about the short tubes in the foreground either, as we did use a range of sizes but I don't remember them being sorted like that. You would have to ask Will as I was subbed in on his job. I do remember the spec being regular rows to allow mower access between but making a more wavey edge to create a more natural effect.
