On the shady side, running between a basal canker and a pruning wound. Can't tell if it's just a bark disease or deeper. Stereum sp.? :confused1:

I think Stereum species are more pored than your example seems to show, it looks more like a toothed crust species from these images.

 

 

Nice tree !

 

I like the fastigiate oaks. Planted these two in about '88

Schizopora not seen in US references. No pores visible even on the creamier fung on the inside of the dead bark. Here's some side shots. Very toothy.
